Murshidabad, Raju Mal : In a swift operation, Ranitala Police Station apprehended 41 Bangladeshi nationals attempting to enter India illegally.
The individuals, hailing from Rajshahi district, Bangladesh, tried to cross the border through various points in Murshidabad, including:
- Kanapara and Char Lobongol (Bhagwangola PS)
- Katlabari (Ranitala PS)
- Birampur (Lalgoal PS)
Police sources revealed that these individuals worked in Murshidabad for two years, employed by Shamim Sheikh (Bhagwangola PS) and Halim Sheikh (Murshidabad resident). Unpaid wages prompted their return to Bangladesh.
Acting on a tip-off, Ranitala Police intercepted and arrested the 41 individuals at Bar Sahib Math, thwarting their illegal entry.
This crackdown highlights the vigilance of Murshidabad’s law enforcement agencies in combating illegal immigration.
