Kolkata: On the eve of International Women’s Day, i Communications organized “Saptashati”, an event dedicated to honoring and empowering nine extraordinary women who have made significant contributions to society. The event, held on March 6, 2025 at The Press Club, Kolkata, celebrated these women as the Navadurga—the nine divine forms of Devi Durga—symbolizing their strength, resilience, and inspiring influence.
The nine exceptional women, who were recognized for their contributions across various fields, included Alokananda Roy, an acclaimed dancer and social reformer; Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group; Riddhi Bandopadhyay, a pioneering artist of Pancho Kabir Gaan; Dr. Sayani Palit, a renowned playback singer and music composer; Jharna Bhattacharjee, a distinguished lyricist, writer, poet, and elocutionist; Santosh Kumar Giri, Secretary & Executive Director of Kolkata Rishta; Anjali Roy, a dancer and cancer survivor; Sunita Das, an passionate animal lover; and Monisha Pailan, an acid attack survivor and social activist associated with the Brave Souls Foundation.
The felicitation ceremony was graced by esteemed Guests of Honour, including Padmashri Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, the renowned Sarod Maestro; Dibyendu Barua, Arjun Awardee and Chess Grandmaster; Debashis Sen, Retd.
