Kolkata: Students of Delhi Public School (DPS), Mega City, emerged winners of the Kolkata round of the 2026 TCS InQuizitive inter-school quiz competition after a day of intense competition involving school teams from across the city and surrounding areas.
The winning team, comprising Devayudh Das and Iraj Singh, secured the top spot in the Kolkata edition and will now advance to the national semi-finals of the competition.
The Kolkata leg saw 162 teams representing 37 schools take part in the quiz, which tested students across a wide range of subjects and current topics. Questions covered areas including education, entertainment, sports, business, advertising and social media, along with technology-driven themes such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, automation, biometrics and robotics.
The event was attended by Prof. (Dr) Saikat Maitra, Vice Chancellor of Techno India University, who was the chief guest. Manojit Sengupta, Delivery Centre Head – Eastern Region, TCS, represented Tata Consultancy Services at the event.
A technology-focused feature was added to this year’s edition with the introduction of real-time AI-powered performance analytics. The system allowed participants to review their performance after each round and identify areas where they could improve.
Speaking at the event, Sengupta said the competition highlighted the strong analytical abilities and teamwork of the participating students. He also congratulated the winning team and wished them success in the upcoming national semi-finals.
The competition is open to students from Classes 8 to 12 and is designed around a mix of general knowledge, contemporary issues and technology-related subjects. The format aims to test not only recall but also students’ ability to analyse information and connect ideas across different fields.
TCS InQuizitive, now in its 28th year, is being conducted in multiple Indian cities as part of its 2026 edition. The competition is being held in Pune, Indore, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
The city-level rounds will lead to the National Finale, where the finalists will compete for the title of TCS InQuizitive National Champions 2026.
