Business Kolkata

Kolkata: Jewellery shopping in Kolkata’s Gariahat has a refreshed destination, with Tanishq relaunching its 13,000-square-foot showroom at Mukti World Complex, near Ballygunge Phari, on Thursday. The relaunch adds a new chapter to the brand’s presence in West Bengal, where it now operates 36 stores.

The showroom was inaugurated at 3 pm by Sunil Raj, Retail Head of Tanishq, and Gaurav Krishna Sah, Regional Business Head, East, Titan Company Limited. The brand now has 68 stores across eastern India.

Spread across a spacious retail area, the revamped showroom brings together traditional gold jewellery, diamond designs, coloured gemstones and polki jewellery. Its collection portfolio combines contemporary designs with influences drawn from Indian culture, architecture and festive traditions.

Festive collections draw inspiration from the cosmos and Bengal’s heritage

Among the highlights is Adhyantara, Tanishq’s latest festive collection, inspired by celestial elements such as stars, the moon, the first light of dawn and the vastness of the universe. The designs reinterpret these natural inspirations through contemporary gold jewellery.

The showroom also features Aagomon, a collection that draws on the architectural character of Bengal’s historic Rajbaris. Inspired by their arches, intricate carvings and ornamental details, the collection includes haarams, sitahars, chokers, tie haars and necklaces.

The collection celebrates the spirit of Notun Bangaliyana, bringing traditional Bengali influences into jewellery designs aimed at the contemporary Bengali woman.

From everyday jewellery to bridal collections

Beyond its festive offerings, the showroom houses several other Tanishq collections, including Aabahon, Elan, GlamDays and String It. The ranges cater to different preferences, from everyday jewellery to lightweight contemporary designs.

Customers can also explore Dor, the brand’s mangalsutra collection inspired by sacred elements of Hindu weddings, and Aveer, its jewellery line for men.

For bridal shoppers, the showroom offers Rivaah, Tanishq’s wedding jewellery sub-brand, which draws inspiration from the bridal traditions of different Indian communities.

Special offers available until November 1

To mark the relaunch, Tanishq has announced special offers valid from October 29 to November 1, 2026. Customers can avail themselves of a flat ₹301 discount on the gold rate, along with discounts of up to 20% on gold making charges and diamond value. A 100% gold exchange offer is also available, subject to the brand’s applicable terms and conditions.

Speaking at the relaunch, Sunil Raj said Kolkata remains an important market for the brand, with customers placing value on craftsmanship, trust and jewellery that carries meaning across generations.

He said the expansion of Tanishq’s retail network and the relaunch of the Gariahat showroom reflect the company’s focus on meeting changing customer preferences while maintaining its emphasis on quality and craftsmanship.

With its renewed showroom and a mix of festive, everyday and bridal collections, Tanishq is looking to strengthen its engagement with jewellery buyers in one of Kolkata’s established shopping districts.
