Kolkata : The 58th Garment Buyers & Sellers Meet and B2B Expo, organized by the West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers Association (WBGMDA), commenced today at Science City, Kolkata, spanning an impressive 2 lakh square feet. Scheduled from 7th to 9th July 2025, the event has brought together over 1000 national and international brands, showcasing a wide variety of readymade garments for men, women, and children.
Now in its 60th year, WBGMDA’s expo has evolved into one of the largest and most impactful business-to-business garment fairs in India. This year’s edition is expected to generate wholesale trade worth Rs. 1200 to 1500 crore, reflecting the sector’s resilience and growth potential.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Minister of State for Fire, Govt. of West Bengal, Sri Sujit Bose, along with WBGMDA leadership including Hari Kishan Rathi (President), Vijay Kariwala (Senior Vice President), Pradeep Murarka (Vice President), Sri Devendra Baid (Hon. Secretary), Manish Agarwal (Executive Committee Member), and other prominent dignitaries and business leaders.
In a significant development, this year’s expo includes participation from the retail sector, further widening its scope. The event is being hailed not only as a business platform but also as a major contributor to employment generation and economic upliftment of the region.
Hari Kishan Rathi, WBGMDA President, highlighted, “Government support has catalyzed the growth of multiple garment hubs across Bengal, and our sector is now attracting global clientele, particularly from Europe and the Middle East. This meet surpasses all expectations in terms of commercial outcomes.”
Devendra Baid, Secretary, noted, “Our meet has emerged as one of India’s largest ready-made garment trade fairs. Even amid economic challenges, we’ve maintained momentum and growth, and the event now enjoys official recognition from the MSME sector.”
