Kolkata: B. R. Singh Hospital’s Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) continues their extraordinary endeavour in saving precious lives of the newborns and it once again saved life of a newborn baby.
One late preterm neonate born to a RPF lady constable, at a pvt hospital near Barasat, was transferred to B.R.Singh Hospital on invasive ventilation with respiratory distress, Sepsis & pneumothorax. The baby was admitted in NICU, put on ventilator & other supportive therapy, gradually improved, extubated & put on non- invasive ventilation, CPAP followed High flow nasal oxygen. It was gradually tapered off, chest drain was removed as the baby improved & finally discharged in a stable condition on Breastfeeding.
With the extraordinary efforts of the doctors & NICU nurses, Neonatal ICU of B R Singh Hospital is saving precious lives every day, serving as a tertiary care referral Centre of Neonatal care for Eastern Railway beneficiaries.
