Murshidabad,Raju Mal : In a heart-wrenching incident, Keyasis Sheikh, 47 -year-old specially abled Toto driver, was brutally murdered by unidentified thugs on Tuesday night after resisting a robbery attempt.
A resident of Netaji Road, Berhampur, Sheikh was driving his Toto near New Market when thugs stopped him. Refusing to yield, they slit his throat and fled with his vehicle.
Adora Bibi, Sheikh’s wife, expressed her despair: “He was our sole breadwinner. How will our family survive now?” Physically challenged and having undergone multiple surgeries, Adora worries about their future: “We have two children; our livelihood depended on my husband. Who will care for us now?”
Locals informed the Berhampur police station about the incident, prompting officers to rush to the scene. Subsequently, the police took the victim to Berhampur Medical College, where he was declared dead. Police have since started reviewing CCTV footage and questioning local Toto drivers to identify and apprehend the culprits.
The family demands justice, seeking severe punishment for the perpetrators.
