Birbhum : The Lohapur Area Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) held its third conference at Bandh Khala village in Nalhati’s Block 2, marking a pivotal gathering for the party. The event commenced with the traditional hoisting of the party flag, followed by heartfelt tributes to martyrs worldwide and esteemed leaders, including CPI(M) Former General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya.

Deepankar Chakraborty, a prominent member of the CPI(M) district committee, inaugurated the conference, setting the tone for a productive and inspiring gathering. The event drew notable attendees, including former MP Dr. Ramchandra Dome, a Politburo member of the Communist Party of India, and Sanjib Barman and Sanjib Mallik, both prominent members of the CPI(M) district committee.

The conference saw the establishment of a revamped 17 -member committee, welcoming Khairul Hasan as its newest member. With 131 delegates in attendance, the event highlighted the party’s robust presence and unified stance. Abdus Salam expertly presided over the proceedings, ensuring a seamless and fruitful exchange of ideas.
