Business Kolkata West Bengal

Kolkata : In a significant boost to Kolkata’s fast-evolving EM Bypass corridor, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Limited and Ambuja Neotia have jointly announced the launch of The Park Unizen, a hospitality-integrated development of serviced residences positioned alongside the upcoming THE Park Hotel.

The project comprises 69 serviced residences, envisioned as a design-forward, hospitality-linked living address that blends urban sophistication with lifestyle convenience. Together with the 218-key luxury hotel, the development is set to further establish EM Bypass as a premier mixed-use lifestyle destination in the city.

A Strategic Collaboration

The partnership brings together two legacy institutions that have shaped Eastern India’s hospitality and real estate landscape over decades. The initiative reflects a strategic alignment between institutional expertise and the rising demand for premium, design-led serviced living formats in metropolitan growth corridors.

Speaking on the launch, Priya Paul, Chairperson of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Limited, said:

“THE Park has always been about shaping spaces where design and culture come alive. With our new luxury hotel on EM Bypass, we are extending that spirit into a larger urban canvas. The Park Unizen brings hospitality into everyday living. It is about waking up to design, energy and connection, and experiencing the creative pulse of Kolkata as part of daily life.”

Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia, added:

“For us, development is not just about adding to the skyline; it is about shaping how a city feels and functions. The Park Unizen has been envisioned as a limited address where proportion, privacy and thoughtfulness guide every space. It reflects our belief that architecture must be contemporary in expression yet deeply rooted in the cultural sensibility of the place it belongs to.”

Architecture Inspired by the Sundarbans

The project has been designed by global architecture firm Gensler, drawing inspiration from the layered ecology of the Sundarban mangroves. The structure features vertical articulation and a climate-responsive façade designed to optimise light and environmental conditions.

Interiors of the common areas and club spaces have been curated by Bobby Mukherrji Architects, incorporating a refined material palette and experiential detailing that merges contemporary aesthetics with contextual sensitivity.

A standout feature of the development is its elevated wellness terrace, complete with a panoramic pool, landscaped zones and curated leisure spaces, positioning it as a premium urban retreat.

Hospitality at Its Core

Adding gravitas to the address is the upcoming THE Park Hotel, also designed by Gensler. The 218-room luxury property is envisioned as a vibrant hospitality landmark featuring curated banquet and event spaces, signature dining experiences, nightlife venues and dedicated wellness facilities.

Notably, the hotel will include an air taxi landing facility, underlining the project’s forward-looking infrastructure planning.

Together, The Park Unizen and THE Park Hotel aim to reinforce EM Bypass as a critical growth axis in Kolkata’s urban expansion narrative.
