Kolkata : As A part of Eastern Railway’s continuous endeavour to curb ticketless travelling Sealdah Division has conducted Intensive Ticket Checking Drive during the month of September over its entire jurisdiction covering all the station over the Division.
The month long ticket checking drive over Sealdah division includes spot checking, drive with ticket checking special train ‘Jagriti’ & fortress checking.
With such stepped up ticket checking in the month of September, a total number of cases 28290 travelling without ticket or with improper ticket were detected over Sealdah division and an amount of ₹87.87 lakhs was realized from the offenders as fare and fine.
Moreover, 19993 unbooked luggage cases have also been detected during the above period and an amount of ₹39.53 lakh has been realized in this connection.
Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division will continue such vigorous drives against ticketless travelling and carrying of unbooked luggage.
