Kolkata: Shyam Metalics, one of India’s leading integrated metal producers, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm across its units in West Bengal. Employees, their families, and local communities came together to mark the nation’s journey of freedom through cultural programmes, flag hoisting ceremonies, and community activities that reflected unity and progress.

In Jamuria, the celebrations began with the hoisting of the Tricolour, followed by a spirited parade and colourful cultural performances at Dhashna. Children of employees showcased their talent with energetic participation, adding joy and vibrancy to the occasion. Senior leaders addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the day and the responsibilities it bestows upon every citizen. A special reward and recognition ceremony honoured outstanding employees, reinforcing Shyam Metalics’ culture of appreciation and teamwork. The event concluded with the distribution of sweets, symbolising harmony and togetherness.

At the Kharagpur unit, the flag unfurling ceremony was followed by a drawing competition for children, encouraging creativity while instilling patriotic values among the younger generation. The celebrations ended with sweet distribution, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy.
