Kolkata: Strategic and operational movement of Defence personnel, equipment and resources came under review during a coordination meeting held at Embarkation Headquarters, Kolkata, on Thursday.

Senior officials from Indian Railways and Defence Estates attended the meeting, which focused on improving coordination and ensuring the smooth and timely movement of Defence Services.

Key discussions covered movement planning, coordination between agencies, infrastructure requirements and operational challenges associated with Defence movements. Officials also discussed ways to streamline existing procedures and strengthen response mechanisms to meet strategic mobility requirements more efficiently.

The meeting stressed the need for closer coordination among the agencies involved in Defence movement and greater preparedness to address operational requirements with speed and precision.

Representatives of Indian Railways and Defence Estates reaffirmed their commitment to providing timely support and maintaining effective coordination for Defence-related movements.

The meeting concluded with a focus on strengthening existing mechanisms and ensuring seamless mobility in support of the operational preparedness of the Defence Services.
